Review of Root of All Evil? (2006) by Derek V — 17 Jul 2007
Dawkins' companion film to his brilliant book "The God Delusion" is a stunner. Favourite sequence: Dawkins interviews an official at Lourdes. The official tells him the total document cures that are attributable to the site.
Dawkins calculates the amount of pilgrims who have come to the site over the decades and suggests to the official that the documented "cures" are statistically insignificant. The fact that millions of morons have spent millions of dollars over the decades to get a miracle cure from this fraudulent miraculous site makes me laugh! I also like when Dawkins points out that the miracle seekers are more likely to get a disease from the waters at Lourdes (from those who are sick and drinking from it) than they are to get a cure.
