Review of Rocky Balboa (2006) by Camille L — 18 Jan 2011
I may get a lot of heat for saying this, but I find that this is the best movie in the series. The original introduced the characters we know and love and will always be an excellent film, but something about the aging of the characters makes them more human and more emotionally powerful than even the first film could convey.
Yes, I know, it's unlikely to see a 30 something fighting a 60 something in a ring, but this is salvaged by the fact that for the first time in the series, Rocky loses. This is, in my opinion, the most complex and emotional story of the series and has the best fight.
(this is the only film where Stallone and his opponent are actually hitting each other) 10/10 (Amazing).
