Review of Reds (1981) by Cathal M — 19 Jul 2008
Far from perfect, and not precisely accurate in its relating of the story of John Reed, Louise Bryant and their bohemian/radical friends, but visually powerful and epic in its scale. Ultimately, for me, it is a story less about revolutionary politics than about the effort required to maintain one's humanity and the love one feels for another human being in the face of war and brutality.
