Review of Red Lights (2012) by Phillipé S — 08 Aug 2012
My feelings on this movie are complex, but I can say with clarity that I did genuinely enjoy and even more so the second time around. Its not without flaw, but I'm surprised to see the verbal lashings it has received from a majority of the critics.
I thought the first hour or so were very well structured, written, and performed. It more than held my interest and while the knuckles do ease up somewhat in the third act, I still found its inevitable but surprisingly surprising ending enjoyable.
The script may get a little muddy the story reaches its climax but it doesn't detract severely enough to negate my entire experience. Definitely a movie I would pay to see the first time.
