Review of Reckless (1984) by Terry J — 03 Dec 2010
A darkly-emotional & moving film, and a star-making turn for Aidan Quinn--an extremely gritty, and starkly realistic, yet almost poetically-sad statement on the amount of work it sometimes takes to win over the one you love; certainly not anything like the vapid romantic comedies that clogged the movie theatres of the day.
Kenneth McMillan is most memorable as Quinn's disillusioned and bitter alcoholic father, & Daryl Hannah shows here that she wasn't just another pretty face. Great soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.
