Review of Rage (1972) by Yoyo T — 27 Oct 2012
Definitely of it's time, the homespun harmonica track that re-enforces simple all American father-son bonding at the beginning of the film really grates. Once this is overcome Scott's lack of subtlety quickly becomes apparent, characters are very black and white, either good, bad or just plain simple.
Richard Basehart is more wooden than ever, I suspected he was stuck on a trolly and wheeled around with a constant look of pain on his face. As a simple tale of a good honest man versus the evil of authoritative systems it works but don't expect any depth.
