Review of Rabbits (2002) by Ka M — 11 Sep 2010
Alot easier on the brain than Eraserhead, but shares that movie's presence as a film you experience rather than watch for entertainment. Like wall art, every person's experience should be uniquely between the watcher and the piece. That would make many of the explanations out there about this film pointless, but I suppose that's where the entertainment is, - after the Lynch movie experience.
Gets higher marks for it's replay capabilities. I sometimes have it on in the background and dip in and out of it. Despite the fact the actors are hidden by their rabbit costumes, I look forward to the Naomi Watt song pieces, but do think the male rabbit's monologue would be better if it was shorter.
It movie's 50 minutes is well suited to the subject matter and now I'm thinking that's where Eraserhead went wrong in that it's too long to take - this is much better.
