Review of Raavanan (2010) by Sri N — 21 Jun 2010
This is my 1st review on a Mani Ratnam movie, being a hardcore Mani Sir fan I am disappointed about the movie even though Mani Sir presents an artistic visual treat through beautiful locations & brilliant cinematography by Santosh Sivan, thats it.
.Screenplay & Dialogues arent at the best, A.R.Rahman Bgm is just ok, even though I like Hindi version songs better than the tamil except Usurae Poguthey song in tamil..Vikram gives his best, yet could have been little subtle in his animated mannerisms.
Aishwariya looks good, acts decent except few over the top performances. Prithviraj looks handsome & performs decent, so is Priya Mani..The story is inspired or taken from Ramayana which is well known to most of Indians, atleast it could been more entertaining, it was too simple to predict & misses the target.
.Mani Sir isnt at the end of the lane, but out of touch this time, Hope next time he gives what he gives best, still & will be a hardcore Mani Ratnam Fan!
