Review of PVC-1 (2008) by Mark Z — 29 Sep 2009
Equally gripping and distracting in its audacious approach (this film was shot in its entirety in one take), this bomb-disarmament thriller works best when the camera briefly roams away from the seemingly doomed matriarch (Merida Urquia) while the bomb around her nick ticks away.
The film achieves genuine hair-raising tension in small portions, and the sound the bomb makes from time to time is enough to unsettle even the most hardened thriller junkie.
