Review of Pride (2009) by Robert G — 15 Jul 2007
Finally saw "Pride". I'm ashamed it took so long esp. since it was set in my hometown.
Critics give message movies a bad rap. But we need these gems in this world. War overseas and war right at home has jaded folks. And the young people are the ones that need movies like this the most.
Terrence Howard and Bernie Mac were outstanding. But it was the ensemble youth cast that showed amazing skills. Evan Ross and Nate Parker in general, are naturals at making you feel their pain.
If you haven't seen it, rent it. No, matter of fact...buy it. And then give it to another.
