Review of Pontypool (2009) by Michael S — 07 Jun 2009
Everything you're hearing about this movie is true. Arguably one of the best horror films I have ever seen. This should have been a film by Romero. Not that I would want his vision of this story (I wouldn't change a damned thing).
For the most superficial of reasons, I wish it was his name up there on the credits instead of Bruce McDonald. Not that this is really a zombie movie. There's so much geniune suspense and dread here that there no blood was necessary (although, there is blood but it certainly isn't over-the-top).
Everyone in this is fantastic including the always magnetic Stephen McHattie. A brilliant, cerebral horror film! Incredible! Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible.
