Bafflingly silly in its adaptation of one of the great stories of all time, and absurd in its characterizations, but, at the end of the day, it's all charming and harmless. This is a movie that has something to say and do, and it accomplished both as it flounders admirably.
I enjoyed myself with this admittedly ridiculous B-movie classic.
