Review of Philomena (2013) by Rex A — 23 Feb 2014
Judi Dench is adorable! This film should win Best Picture and Dench should win Best Actress, it's that good. I've now seen all of the Best Picture nominees (minus Nebraska and Captain Phillips) and this one takes the cake.
It had me laughing and there were many moments that tears started welling up. I've never cared for Steve Coogan, but his performance is incredible. There's a look he gives Philomena that, well, like I said, tears welling up.
It's a beautiful movie that deserves to be seen by all. I hope it's the surprise win at the Oscars.
