Dun think I can fully grasp the significance of peepli live as a non-indian(?), but this was definitely an intelligent satire and different, even from its hindi indie flick counterparts (methinks, anyway).
Didnt know that this (farmers committing suicide) is actually a very real issue in india, even today. had the benefit of watchin tis with a hindi mate who provided further insight. though peepli live did feel a tad bit too long, this was a really impressiive directorial debut- the way she handled such an issue so deftly. way to go, anusha!
