Review of Patton (1970) by Eitan F — 05 Feb 2009
Patton is the story of a warrior from the days of chivalry and honor, trapped in the modern world, where warfare has been stripped of heroics, and made to serve the interests of dishonorable politicians.
The warrior, triumphs over his foe, only to be brought down by his refusal to go along silently with the dishonorable plans of his superiors. Patton the man, is thus the tragic hero of ancient myth and legend.
destroyed by the qualities that made him great. Patton the movie iis both an ancient story retold, and the true story of America's greatest WWII general.
