Review of Patagonia Rising (2012) by Scott L — 06 Feb 2014
While many critics find this rather slow and not necessarily interesting, it's a documentary that looks at the a critical issue of our time: free flowing rivers versus the need for power. It's not meant to entertain, it's meant to educate and it does so very well.
It is not one-sided, it captures the opinions of people both for and against the dams. To truly understand this issue, you have to see the areas and the people that will be impacted by the construction of the dams and transmission lines.
This documentary does that very well. Indeed, it showcases the beauty of the region and accurately portrays the impacts of the project.
