Review of Paris Follies (2014) by Harry W — 18 Oct 2014
To me, sorry to say, Isabelle Huppert does look difficult in comedy genre by her icy, uptight, serious, alienating delivery.
TIP TOP (2013) was a disaster, for example.
As a matter of fact, comedy isn't her main career output either.
It doesn't mean Huppert couldn't be in a comedy, not at all, but she just needs some good writing & directing, or even good side-kicks supporting her.
Marc Fitoussi maybe one of those names on that list. COPACABANA, his previous work, has brought in a bran-new, nit-witted Huppert & which was indeed, quite convincing.
And, here, once again, Fitoussi made us believe that, "loveliness" could be a word describing our Madame Huppert as well.
