Review of Our Daily Bread (1934) by Stephan A — 03 Dec 2008
A special movie. It really takes its time, moving silently and slowly. Some incredibly beautiful pictures, a few horrible (but realistic) moments and a lot of spacy, nearly hypnotizing sequences in between.
The movie shows how food is produced, without any real explanations or commentary. What intrigued me most is the small handful of people producing massive amounts of food and the clean, almost surreal way everything is done.
Not a movie that'll rock your world, but if you have an hour and a half to spend, it will make you think (and not force an opinion on you).
