A monumental story of race, class, and privilege in America, as seen through what one would have thought was a too-well-known story, but Edelman manages to make the whole thing fresh. Not only does he include interviews with many people we hadn't really heard from, but he ties it all together in a coherent way to help us understand more about who we really are as Americans.
