Another rare gem that follows it's own path rather than the formulaic "hero's journey". Typical to Anime there is violence; which is enjoyably well choreographed, and there is sexual content.
Some of which may be disturbing to some! However, given the context of these scenes they can NOT be considered hentai as they are plot developing rather than gratuitous. Anyone saying otherwise just isn't being fair minded.
Overall, this is a Genre defining feudal japanese anime. A first stop for anyone wanting to see what its about. If you don't like this then Anime is not you cup of tea.
