Tom Long wrote that the songs are not memorable... have to agree there, unfortunately. However I really enjoyed this tremendous movie, I enjoy musicals when they're well made, Moulin Rouge, Mamma Mia, Rent.
.. and of course personal favourites Singing in the Rain and The King & I. All the leads did a wonderful job, amazing just how much Kate Hudson looks like her Mom (Goldie Hawn), Daniel Day Lewis - well, personally I find it hard to fault him.
If you enjoy musicals, and want something a little deep, then watch... if you want Mamma Mia then watch Mamma Mia or wait for Mamma Mia 2 (they're making it now).
