Review of Nine (2009) by Paul B — 21 Sep 2013
This is the kind of movie I wanted with Chicago (2002) and didn't get. It's a deep, insightful look into the descent of a film-maker who tried to find pleasure in his deceit and never gaining it as well as realizing his foolishness.
It's such a rich, sexy, and emotional film, and I don't understand why it is as unappreciated as it is. Many people look at only the spectacle, while I try to also look a its philosophical levels, and it doesn't disappoint.
