Review of New York, New York (1977) by Caleb M — 11 Aug 2007
A great movie, but not the greatest musical. Some of the songs are better than others, and the theme is wonderfull, but the magic is in the performances. Liza Minnelli is sweet and moving, and De Nero is fantastic as a controlling, manipulating musician.
many moments are both funny, cruel, and sad, but they are pulled off perfectly.
