Review of Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010) by Justin P — 23 May 2010
Just finished watching this doc on the history of the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise...and can sum it up in one word AMAZING!
This is probably one of the most thorough documentaries I've seen about a horror film franchise. They go by it film by film, from 1984's A Nightmare On Elm Street right up to 2003's Freddy Vs Jason.
The people they talk to are very open to all aspects of the film, and even have their funny anecdotes about working on the particular film.
The funniest thing I found, was when they were talking about part 2. Those who have seen it, probably find it be quite.....gay! Well the screenwriters, etc pretty much admit that the script was written with a gay subtext, and that the character of Jesse was in fact supposed to be gay (the actor that plays him is gay in real life).
If you're a fan of NOES films, then I definitely recommend this film...word of warning though.....it is 4 hours long....so ya might need a pee break half way through lol.
