Review of My Generation (2017) by John S — 22 Aug 2018
Watching My Generation *** is like spending a Sunday afternoon listening to your grandad reminiscing about his past, if he is Michael Caine. Aside from Caine's narration, there are interviews with other famous faces but you only hear their voices, as the whole film is made up of 60s stock footage with occasional cutaways to selected scenes from Caine's filmography, and an expensive soundtrack of greatest hits from the era.
Surprisingly coherent in places even though it does meander to cover a lot of ground, this doesn't really tell you anything new or ground-breaking but it is sweet and comforting like that cup of tea you share with your grandad while you listen to him hum and dance along down memory lane.
