Review of My Family (1986) by Brenda S — 27 Nov 2007
A brilliant and well-told account of one Hispanic family's lives over the course of roughly 60 years, which somehow avoids cartoonish portrayals of ethnic stereotypes...except for the whole "switchblade in Chucho's girlfriend's beehive" bit.
Great work by all those involved, and delightful cameos by TV's Dr. Sam Beckett and Doc Brown's wife...plus...the big screen debut of Edward James Olmos' pornstache.
