Review of My Blueberry Nights (2007) by S. Nazneen R — 10 Oct 2008
Kar-wai finally gets a chance to lead this part-Korean group-of-staff into the "Western" culture, proving that when the subtitles come off it's all about the feelings, baby! The moral of the story (yes, morals are greatly used and abused in this narrative) is very plain, but like many journeys you need the experience of traveling to properly appreciate the destination; and Norah Jone's character has a lot of soul-searching to do.
.. Arguably a thinker's Chick-flick but still something there for the respectful boyfriend/male-friend audiences. Colourful and heartfelt; try before you buy.
