Review of Mrs Palfrey at The Claremont (2005) by Garnette A — 31 May 2008
Witty, beautiful, life affirming, joyous, English character movie. Poignant but not tear-jerker, amazing performances, in the genre of Enchanting April and Miss Pettigrew . . . Enlivened by Joan Plowright, who wore her own clothes as the costumes!! I am seeing it again today with the friend who recommended it.
She owns you, good idea. Plowright brought out the best, clearly, in Rupert Friend. Cast definitely having fun with this one.
