Review of Most Likely to Murder (2018) by Max E — 31 May 2018
Not a horrible movie, but nothing worth going out of your way to bother with.
This had a lot of promise, but can't figure out if it's supposed to be a comedy or deliver some believable biting commentary about the peaked in high school jock. It could have been good - but digresses into poor tropes and a lurching plot.
Eichner who plays the ex-king Speigel delivers a very inconsistent performance. One minute he's cock of the walk, the next he delivers overly-hammed regret scenes totally inconsistent. It's almost split-personality and audiences are left not having a clue which is supposed to be believed.
It's clear this movie is trying to duplicate the style of Superbad and similar modern comedy but never gets there.
