Review of Moonraker (1979) by Emil P — 16 Jan 2013
One of the best Bond movies, my favourite together with "For your eyes only". This is exactly what Bond should be about: megalomaniacs with outrageous plans for taking over the world, exotic locations, gadgets, weird henchmen, humour, beautiful women.
.. Those who complain that the film wasn't serious don't understand anything about the essence of Bond movies. The reason the 'serious' Bond movies have failed is because they take themselves too seriously.
Bond works only when it acknowledges what it really is: a totally unrealistic fantasy.
