Review of Moon of the Wolf (1972) by The N — 21 Dec 2011
TV movies back from the 70s hold more interest to me then those of today. They often took a drive-in concept & down played it to a television level. Moon of the Wolf actually plays like something that could have been on the circuit back in the day just playing itself very close to the chest because of budget & what was allowed by censors.
That's not to say it doesn't have its campy charms because the actual werewolf design (once you actually get to see it instead of just being POV) reeks of low budget cheese wiz but Id eat it on toast any day.
A little slow in spots but that is mostly due to its television pacing its fortunate to have Geoffery Lewis in the cast which make this rise above on occasion.
