Review of Monsieur Ibrahim (2003) by S V — 26 Jul 2004
Here is a beautiful, heartwarming little story about a lonely Jewish boy who befriends a Muslim shopkeeper in his neighborhood and finds a father figure in him. It is a quiet but charming film that touches the heart without appearing overly sentimental.
Both lead actors are incredibly believable at their roles. If you're looking for a simple yet beautiful story about human nature and friendship with a bit of nostalgy and fantasy added to the recipe, you should be well-served.
