Review of Mon Oncle (1958) by Alicia P — 19 Jun 2007
It is Tati's hand at crafting stories so meticulously, with such precision and eye for detail that makes his films so wonderful and poignant. Mon Oncle is a perfect example of such artistry. Through humor, he indicts the hypermodernity and materialism that took hold of society.
And we learn to love the spontaneous, and boisterous world of and cluttered cobblestone roads, open markets, and horse-drawn carriages.
