Review of Mon Oncle (1958) by Claudia W — 12 Jul 2010
Tati, once again, taking his character to higher levels of ridicule, this time brilliantly satirizing the upper class in the Buñuel tradition, replacing surrealism with jokes of all sizes (the tiny, the slapstick, the big, the hilarious, the intrinsic) and a brief introduction of the scope that would plague Play Time. The score is one of my favorites of all time. Two weeks later, I'm still whistling the main theme while on the streets.
99/100.
