Review of Mistress America (2015) by Eavan R — 19 Sep 2015
Fans of Gerwig and Baumbach's fast paced wit, will relish this thoroughly enjoyable, screwball comedy. A mature offering from the pair that brought the sweet and self-absorbed joy of Frances Ha to our screens.
Stage-like set ups and fast talking characters fill every inch of this joyous gem of a film and although it references old fashioned film-making the relationships and characters feel more contemporary than most "millenial" centric cinema.
To bring some sunshine to a rainy, Sunday afternoon.
