In some circles this horror flick is thought of as a cult classic but, I don't agree. John Russo who worked with George Romero on Night of the Living Dead, wrote and directed this amatuerish story of a group of young travelers who run afoul of a group of sadistic Devil worshiping rednecks.

Russo has none of Romero's style nor is he able to conjure any suspense or atmosphere for any of the proceedings. The acting and dialog are awful and some of the racist dialog is just overkill. A good deal of the carnage occurs offscreen, in fact, a whole second set of characters are captured and killed and we only find out about them when the sole survivor relays the story to our heroine when they are imprisoned together.

Let's not even bother mentioning we've seen it all before. A flm that certainly doesn't live up to it's overblown reputation.
