Micmacs is to the world arms trade what The Lorax was to environmental sympathizers. Jeunet has a singular style that can be brilliant to a fault, much like Dr. Suess. Those who say the movie was too silly obviously haven't noticed the French title translates to 'non-stop shenanigans' or somehow dislike this peculiar genius.
I'll agree it's not for everyone, but it is 100% for me.
