It's weird, and undeniably Australian. I wouldn't watch it again and again like I have Muriel's wedding, but the numerous instances of good comedic acting, and the charming characters, especially the girls, make it so entertaining that you are often about to suspend your belief for a little while to cheer on the absurdity.
