Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Tom L — 13 Feb 2017
To all the simpletons and hicks giving this movie 1 star because "it was too long" or my favourite "it took half an hour to show us why Affleck's character was acting like an idiot!" then go watch a Michael Bay movie retards.
It was painfully gut wrenching as each flash back kept dropping further clues as to the demise of Lee's family. Brilliant story telling and absolutely spot on acting. Even Broderick as a full blown bible basher was tastefully cast.
Knowing that Lee couldn't raise Patrick satisfactorily for his adolescence was the perfect ending and goes to show the story is honest to itself and in line with the theme of the entire narrative.
This will clean up at the Oscars.
