Review of Man on Fire (1987) by Lucius D — 21 Feb 2011
This movie has been in my top 3 best movies of all time for a couple of years now and I'm sure it's going to be in that top 3 for a long while. It's amazing how a movie can be good at so many levels. Not only does Tony Scott manage to make this movie visually stunning, he gives us a storyline that portraits the actions of a real man. And Washington's amazing talent combined with the believability that Fanning brings just makes me forget I'm watching a movie. Fact that it is based on a true story makes it even better.
Btw, for all those people who think this movie is way too violent, you live in a dreamworld. Movies tend to portray what happens in real life. This movie is not even close to the horrors that people face in third world countries, so open your eyes.
