Review of Malice (1993) by Martin D — 25 Aug 2010
I can't figure out what that whole serial rapist thing was about. It feels as though the writers wanted to write a serial killer movie and then got bored and decided to go with insurance fraud instead. Or maybe the writers needed a way to introduce Bebe Neuwirth's character. And what was her accent about? Just for fun? Nobody else in the movie talked like that, least of all Nicole Kidman. Her American accent has improved over the years, though.
Overall, kind of a weird movie that kept my attention but wasn't actually all that good. Except that Alec Baldwin is arrestingly handsome and that Nicole Kidman looks great in 90s attire. She should definitely go back to wearing her hair curly.
Also, Gwyneth Paltrow is in this movie for about three seconds. That was a pleasant surprise. Not that I love Gwyneth Paltrow; she just rounded out the cast of everyone in the entire world who was in it.
