Review of Mahogany (1975) by Richard J — 28 Aug 2007
Just to let you know I have both this and lady sings the blues on DVD and I live in the UK, now I remember these films when I was young and I thought Diana Ross was so glamourous back then in the 70's, so this film is strange as it ends really poorly but the plot is intersting perhaps a bit negative in places maybe.
..But however the fashion and characters are great Anthony Perkins is really weird but wicked in comparison to Diana Ross and Billy Dee... Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams characters were postive role models for their generation and the film still appeals to anyone who has a little smaltz in their body It is cheesy but it is a feel good film, there are parts where you think what the F*Ck is happening but in the field it is set in, anything can happen.
.If you love fashion watch thsi film as it is interesting...
