Review of Luck by Chance (2009) by Aparna I — 06 May 2009
This is an mazing movie, flawless sattire of the Bollywood industry. The irony of realising that your a part of what seems like a cirucs, yet a wiling participant is wonderfully captured. Think 'Bollywood Calling' (Nagesh Kuknoor) with a more cohesive, and serious plot combined with powerful cast performances.
Subtle comic scenes like the film institute, heroine trying to touch producers feet in an awfully tight costume, producers smearing vermillon on the tapes to be auspicious show the, seemingly paradoxical functioning of Indian film industry.
A must watch.
