Review of Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau (2014) by Jacob F — 12 Jun 2016
This surprising documentary reminded me a lot of Lost in La Mancha, a similar film that recounted the failed attempt of Gilliam to direct his adaptation of Don Quixote. Richard Stanley is interviewed about his failed attempt to shoot The Island Of Dr.
Moreau. Notorious tanker at the box office , this film has a backstory more entertaining and far more chaotic than the film itself. It's nice to hear some of the original cast and crew member talking about the disasters and series of unfortunate events that plagued the project from start to finish.
Definitely entertaining .
