Review of Local Hero (1983) by Christopher B — 03 Sep 2007
A modern classic, filled to the brim with subtlety and honesty. Many of our generation will say they don't "get" this movie, which is unfortunate, because the directing is flawless (thank you, Bill Forsyth), the acting is great (thank you, Lancaster and Riegert), and the story is infectiously laid-back.
A true movie's movie that's hard to place in any genre.
