Review of Lili (1953) by Dagenais S — 18 Nov 2007
One of my favorite films which I watch it all the time. Leslie Caron is the perfect ingenue and the story is just so sweet and touching. THey really don't make such lovely romances nowadays. I love the interaction between Lili and the puppets and also her journey towards self discovery and knowledge. Mel Ferrer is also very easy on the eyes, which certainly doesn't hurt. A beautiful film.
I also recommend the short story upon which Lili is based, The Love of Seven Dolls by Paul Gallico, but it's a little grittier and not so sweet and innocent.
