Review of Les Misérables (1958) by Lucile D — 14 Dec 2012
One of the truest to the book and most accurate adaptions I have seen. Much of the dialogue and narration directly from the book. The acting is mediocre but watchable, even if the dubbing is terrible. There are some minor changes to the story, but this adaption includes many scenes (esp.
regarding the barricade) that typically get cut from film. Well worth the 4 hr running time for a fan of the brick (er, book). Others may find it slow-paced and dull.
