Review of Lawn Dogs (1997) by Rich B — 02 Aug 2007
Lawn Dogs (1997) - "My uncle had a truck like that. He was Russian, from Indiana... born on the wrong side of the train." - Devon.
Camelot Gardens is home to bored housewives who sleep around while their husbands scratch and claw their way up the social ladder. 21-year old Trent (Sam Rockwell) lives outside "the wall" that surrounds Camelot Gardens, but mows the lawns of its wealthy inhabitants. Your basic crazy man, Trent does fine until Devon (Mischa Barton), a fearless (and equally crazy) 10-year old daughter of one of his customers, gets under his skin.
What started clever, gradually descended into stereotype-filled silliness and then, right at the end, it went totally berserk.
An excellent score, some great moments... and some not so great ones, too.
