Review of L'Argent (1983) by Ian M — 23 Feb 2010
A dark, absurdly comical tale of crime, punishment, and damn bad luck as small scale events escalate into violence, tragedy and fun times with an axe. Somewhere between Fargo and A Clockwork Orange, Bresson's final film is beautifully shot and directed and in a consistantly ironic sstyle.
A modern masterpiece of french new-wave-influenced cinema. 10/10.
