Review of Lantana (2001) by Cam B — 05 Jun 2006
Finally saw it as I'm about to teach it to Year 12, and thought that it was bloody brilliant. The twists and turns of the mystery are intriguing enough, but it's the interplay between all of the characters and their relationships that makes the thing so damn good.
Heard it described as an Australian American Beauty, which I don't agree with -- the films say completely different things about the world...and my Australia doesn't always include adultery and mistrust.
But perhaps I'm just one of the lucky ones.
